    Football

This week, 9 of our pupils took part in the small-schools football tournament in Grantham. Entering as defending champions (pre-covid), there was a lot of expectation from themselves and others, but the boys relished the challenge. They started off with a bang, winning their first match comfortably. Throughout the tournament, they faced some very tough opponents, including local rivals and performed admirably throughout. From recovering from being 2-0 down at half time, to a battling draw against the eventual champions; everybody gave it their all. Eventually our team finished fourth, with one solitary, last-minute goal separating them from second place. The boys were a credit to our school throughout the afternoon and performed admirably, especially considering it was their first time back together in two years. I would also like to extend a thanks to those parents who came to help out and support on the day, as well as all of those that continue to help and support their children as we head towards our next challenge. Well done team Corby Glen!!!

    Mathematics World Cup

Recently, Brambling Class took part in the Numberfit Mathematics World Cup. This involved the children splitting into groups, competing against schools from across the globe in a test of their mathematical prowess. The children all thoroughly enjoyed competing, especially as it encompassed so much physical and wellbeing activity. After all of their hard work, I am pleased to announce that of the two Brambling Class groups that represented our school, one finished in a brilliant 11th place out of 262, and the other finished FIRST...IN THE WORLD!!! We are all so proud of the efforts and achievements of our pupils’ success and we are taking it forward to compete in the World Series throughout the year.
