On 27 January every year, it is Holocaust Memorial Day.
It's a day for everyone to remember the millions of people who were killed, or whose lives have been changed, by an event in history called the Holocaust.
On this day we also remember the millions of people who were killed or have been affected by Nazi persecution and terrible crimes committed during conflicts in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2023 is Ordinary People, and aims to shine a light on the ordinary people persecuted for who they are, but also ordinary people who throughout history have been part of that persecution or allowed it to happen.
The theme also aims to draw attention to the extraordinary people who went to extreme lengths to help those affected.

An exciting festival for our Boccia team, a lovely turn out of 18 teams attended the event. Our team managed to finish 2nd in their group after an excellent win in one event of 13-0 and then they came 3rd in the overall competition. Well done to both our team members who said they can not wait to enter more competitions.

The children learnt all about Sarah-Ann, what inspired her to write the book and how the animals in the story are meaningful to her. The children heard some top tips for writing stories, learnt about the importance of editing and had a great Q & A session to find out even more about the role of an Author.
