On behalf of our governing body I would like to welcome you to Corby Glen Community Primary School.
Our governance board has a maximum of 13 members and our role is to make sure objectives are met and that planning for the future is both aspirational and realistic. We are here to support and challenge the headteacher, senior leadership team and teaching staff.
Our aim is to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to reach their fullest potential, both academically and socially, and are part of a successful learning community that prepares them for the future.
Our board consists of parents, representatives of the local community and people with expertise in education and business. We use this knowledge to help set the direction, provide practical support and hold the school to account.
Governors meet six times a year as a full Governing Board. We also have an additional finance committee that meets at least three times a year.
We are very proud of the children in our school and I would like to thank all parents and staff for the support and encouragement they give. For children, this support nurtures key social and creative skills, whilst helping to build confidence and self-esteem. Parent interest and support in promoting the school is invaluable and ensures Corby Glen has a strong partnership with the local community.
I feel privileged to be the Chair of Governors and to lead an experienced team of volunteers who work hard to share their expertise to guide the school forward.
