This week, 9 of our pupils took part in the small-schools football tournament in Grantham. Entering as defending champions (pre-covid), there was a lot of expectation from themselves and others, but the boys relished the challenge. They started off with a bang, winning their first match comfortably. Throughout the tournament, they faced some very tough opponents, including local rivals and performed admirably throughout. From recovering from being 2-0 down at half time, to a battling draw against the eventual champions; everybody gave it their all. Eventually our team finished fourth, with one solitary, last-minute goal separating them from second place. The boys were a credit to our school throughout the afternoon and performed admirably, especially considering it was their first time back together in two years. I would also like to extend a thanks to those parents who came to help out and support on the day, as well as all of those that continue to help and support their children as we head towards our next challenge.
